Impact of pesticides on rural women and children in Sri Lanka

The policy preparation discussion and national symposium on the impact of pesticides on rural women and children in Sri Lanka was held at the Hector Kobbekaduwa Agricultural Research Institute on the 6th.

Mr. Thilak Kariyawasam (Chairman of Lanka Organic Agricultural Movement), Mr. Kamal Gammanpila (Biomedical Scientist), Mr. Keerthi Mohotti (Former Director of Tea Research Institute), Dr. Jeewani Marasinghe (Chief Scientist, Pesticides Register Office), Mrs. Devika Kodithuvakku (President of Government Midwifery Services Association (GMSA)), Mr. Fazly Mohammed (Program Manager of Sri Lanka Organic Agricultural Movement) spoke there.

It was organised by the Vikalpani National Women’s Federation and Lanka Organic Agricultural Movement.
