Two training programs on the production and use of biochar for organic farming were conducted by the Sri Lanka Organic Agriculture Movement in Weligepola on 19.08.2025. Mr. Thilak Kariyayusam and Mr. Fazly Mohamed and Mr. Jacob of Bullet Biochar conducted the training program on biochar production.
The program was organized by the Weligepola Women’s Development Association. The benefits of biochar, knowledge about its production and use, as well as practical demonstrations were given.
More than 70 women farmers participated in these programs held at Bambaragala Farm and Hatangala.
