An awareness program to promote organic agriculture and agroecology to be carried out by the Lanka Organic Agricultural Movement in the coming years was held on June 07 at the LOADI Grove Organic and Analog Forestry Training Center in Mattegoda. Researchers, trainers and farmer representatives engaged in organic farming participated in the program.
Issues faced by farmers in organic rice cultivation, Problems faced by the producer and consumer in the organic market, procurement issues, new innovations, weed control and the promotion of organic rice cultivation throughout the island were discussed at the event.
