With the support of the #Misereor project, the Lanka Organic Agriculture Movement (LOAM) conducted a programme on 8 August 2026 at the LOADI Grove Training Centre in Mattegoda to promote organic Animal husbandry farming and strengthen the economic capacity of farmers.
Veterinary Surgeon Ms. Subhashini Kuragala served as the resource person for the programme.
LOAM staff, along with 35 participants currently engaged in Animal husbandry farming or interested in taking up Animal husbandry farming, participated in the programme, representing the areas of Mattegoda, Kahathuduwa, and Weniwelkola.
The main objectives of the programme were to promote organic Animal husbandry farming, strengthen farmers’ economic livelihoods, and establish a Animal husbandry bank, among other initiatives.
